A TALK ON OSTEOPOROSIS
A Talk by Pier Boutin, MD

A sixth of the population, 54 million Americans, have low bone mass. Women between the ages of 40 and 64 break a wrist six times more often than the general population. After 50, women’s risk of a wrist fracture doubles every ten years.

One in 3 women and 1 in 10 men over 55 will sustain a hip fracture. Half of them will never walk again and half of the men will die within a year.

Bone health plays a major role in longevity. On average, people with strong bones live a longer and enjoy a more active life. Learn how to avoid a broken bone: wrist or hip.
